Sandra Mitchell, DVM, DABVP Sandra Mitchell, DVM, DABVP Sandra Mitchell, DVM, DABVP (Feline Specialty and Exotic Companion Mammal Specialty) is the owner of Animal Medical Associates. She is also the only board certified feline specialist and exotic companion mammal specialist in either Maine or New Hampshire. Additionally, she is a licensed wildlife rehabilitator in the State of Maine. She loves caring for our companion animals, particularly dealing with geriatric patients as well as animals with difficult to diagnose or treat conditions. If it fits through the door, she will see your pet as there are no medical challenges she is unwilling to tackle. She and her husband are "owned" by their own personal tribe which includes cats, a dog, ferrets, chinchillas, bearded dragons, a veiled chameleon, a jumbo leopard gecko, a chicken, and whatever wildlife have decided to take up temporary residence. In her spare time, she writes for veterinary journals, gives lectures to veterinarians, veterinary staff, and owners, writes exam questions for a variety of veterinary qualification exams, and writes for animal oriented magazines and websites. In her real time off, she loves to canoe - especially whitewater. In 2010, she completed a 1,000 mile canoe race in the Yukon, finishing in only 8 days, 14 hours, and 47 minutes!

Ginette Beaudoin , DVM Hi, my name is Ginette Beaudoin. I enjoy hiking, snow-shoeing, cross country skiing, and photography. I am an AMC (Appalachian Mountain Club) information volunteer and trip leader. I graduated from Purdue Veterinary School in 1983 and have been in private practice since then. I sold my interest in AMA to Dr. Sandra Mitchell and I continue to practice here on a part time basis. I enjoy doing surgery as well as appointments.

Karen Nowicki Hi, I'm Karen Nowicki. I've been with the Animal Medical Associates for over 20 years. I am the proud mother of a college student and a Marine. The girls are 19 now. How old does that make me?? Steph will be studying Para-medicine at SMCC and Kate is currently at Camp Lejuene in North Carolina. My husband, Bill, is still with the Portland Fire Department.

A life long love for horses has prompted us to move from Old Orchard Beach to Lyman to what will be our new horse farm. Czaro is my nearly 25 year old Arabian. I hope to add another horse to the herd once we have the new house settled, barn built and pastures made...

Stacey Lamarre My name is Stacey Lamarre and I have been working for Animal Medical Associates for the past 5 years as a receptionist. I graduated from Thorton Academy in '86, worked for Hannaford for 9 years at the service desk, cash office and front end, until I left to raise my daughters, Jocelyn and Kim. I went back to work when my youngest daughter started Kindergarten. I worked at Saco Middle School in the lunch program for 7 years. I live in Saco with my husband, Brian, and we have a black lab named Thunder as well as 3 cats; Moose, Greybear and Skeeter.

Shannon Daley Hi! My name is Shannon Daley and I am currently attending the University of Southern Maine as a senior in the process of obtaining my Bachelor's degree in Biology particularly concentrating in animal-based classes. I will be graduating in May 2011. I have worked at AMA since May 2010 and am so happy to be a part of this team and am currently learning so much more through the experience here. I am hoping to pursue a career in the veterinary field and whether I attend vet school or work towards my technician's license is yet to be decided. In the meantime, I would like to do some traveling and enjoy what Maine has to offer.

My love for animals goes beyond my job. At home I have a beautiful dog named Natanis. Much of my free time with my boyfriend is spent by exploring new places for her to romp and play & enjoy the outdoors. I enjoy being outside and enjoying most of the variety of weather Maine has to offer. We love to hike new trails in the summer and snowshoe them in the winter. If you see me outside of work Natanis will most likely be right by my side.

Sarah Hi, my name is Sarah Keddy. My boyfriend and I moved to Old Orchard from Berlin, NH on August 2nd, 2010. I began volunteering at Animal Medical Associates at the end of September and after three months, they decided to keep me around and hired me as a full time employee. I am attending college to become a Licensed Veterinary Technician. I absolutely love my job, and would not trade it for any other in the world. I love outdoor activities including four wheeling, hiking, going to the beach, and fishing. I also love painting and ceramics. My favorite activity above all is working with animals of every shape and size. I am my happiest when I am learning about some new critter. I have one cat. His name is Budzy, and he is the most lovable ball of fur that I have ever met. He was abandoned outside a hospital in the middle of winter with his two sisters when he was a kitten. My boyfriend brought him home, and he has been spoiled ever since. Moving to a completely different state is hard, especially straight out of high school. Animal Medical Associates has given me the boost that I needed to build my life here. I look forward to meeting you and your pets in the future!
